Sushil Sureshrao Narole is a social worker, community activist and the Founder & President of Sobera Foundation, whose life and work are rooted in a simple but powerful belief: every human being deserves dignity, hope, opportunity and someone who is willing to stand beside them in difficult times.

For more than 15 years, he has remained closely connected with poor, vulnerable and distressed farming communities, focusing on understanding the difficulties faced by farmers and contributing to efforts aimed at preventing farmer suicides and supporting people affected by agricultural and socio-economic distress.

From Concern to Commitment

Sushil Narole believes that social problems cannot always be understood by looking at statistics alone. Behind every number is a person, a family, a struggle and a story.

His years of grassroots engagement have brought him closer to people experiencing financial hardship, family difficulties, social vulnerability and uncertainty about their future. These experiences strengthened his conviction that meaningful social service begins with listening, understanding and standing with people when they need support the most.

For him, helping someone does not always mean solving every problem. Sometimes it means giving a person confidence, showing them a possible path forward, connecting them with the right support, or simply making them feel that they are not alone.

Education & Social Perspective

Sushil Sureshrao Narole holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree and has pursued Master of Social Work (MSW) studies. His educational background, combined with more than a decade of grassroots experience, has shaped his understanding of individuals, families and communities and the social challenges that affect their ability to live with dignity and hope.

Fifteen Years With Farmers

A defining chapter of his journey has been his long-standing association with poor and vulnerable farmers and rural communities, working around issues connected with farmer distress, family hardship and social vulnerability — with the broader objective of helping people find support and constructive ways forward.

With this philosophy at the heart of his work, Sushil Narole founded Sobera Foundation as a platform through which social service could be organised, expanded and made more sustainable. His vision is to create an institution where compassion is transformed into meaningful action and where individuals, volunteers, professionals, communities and partners can come together to address social challenges.

Through Sobera Foundation, his areas of interest include education, digital and communication skills, youth development, community development, support for vulnerable communities, farmer and rural welfare, social awareness and human empowerment. The Foundation reflects his belief that lasting social change requires more than temporary assistance — it requires education, skills, awareness, opportunity, community participation and continuous support.
